Born in Canada to Nigerian parents, Adejoke Taiwo has cultivated a lifelong passion for creativity, craftsmanship, and storytelling. Inspired by the rich textiles and intricate construction of her parents' traditional garments, she began sewing at the age of six. That early fascination with design grew into a lifelong pursuit, leading her to earn formal training in Costuming for Theatre and a Bachelor of Design in Fashion Design.

With over 18 years of experience in the film industry, Adejoke has built a career centered on design, creation, and visual storytelling. As a costume designer, she is passionate about transforming ideas into compelling characters through thoughtful concept development, meticulous craftsmanship, and seamless execution. Her work reflects a deep appreciation for the power of costume to shape narrative and bring stories to life.

 

Since launching her design business in 2009, Adejoke has developed extensive expertise in both the creative and operational sides of the industry. From leading production teams and managing budgets to overseeing every stage of the design process, she brings a well-rounded approach that balances artistic vision with practical execution.

Each new project presents an opportunity to explore a different world—whether Western, contemporary, period, or science fiction—and to create costumes that become an integral part of a character's identity. The challenge of building these visual narratives is what continues to fuel her passion for design.
